SEMINARS IN THE USES AND APPLICATIONS OF ORGANIC PAINTS ARE NOW INCLUDED IN THE ROYAL INSTITUTE OF BRITISH ARCHITECTS’ CPD PROVIDERS NETWORK.
A seminar by AURO Organic Paints on the environmental benefits and uses of natural organic paints has been assessed as conforming to the guidelines set down by the Royal Institute of British Architects’ CPD Providers network.
Entitled:” Going With the Grain of Nature” the ‘Whys’ and ‘Hows’ of Organic Paints, the seminar distinguishes between the different types of paints and their environmental, decorative and preservative properties.
The seminar discusses the available alternatives to conventional paints increasingly being requested from architects, in the interest of health and a sustainable environment.
Alan Sim, Technical Director of AURO Organic Paints presents the case for natural paints that can be used instead of paints based on synthetic chemicals. He also discusses methods of application and the lasting properties of these new products.

New Auro 100% natural and solvent free paints perform better than acrylics while offering the same advantages of being water thinable, quick drying and easy to use.
Unlike acrylics they are not prone to cracking and peeling – being tough and flexible. Neither are they the products of synthetic chemistry nor derived from petroleum. Three years of research and 2.1 million Deutschmarks have gone into their development.
Some other paints appear to compare with AURO but only by making unacceptable environmental compromises.
This September we have introduced the new water based gloss paint with the same range of colours as the existing oil paint. Soon to come will be a parallel eggshell range, the white and some pale shades are already available. Over the coming months, this new base will be introduced into most of the remaining products bringing substantial advances in durability and ease of use eliminating any restrictions on application and transport due to volatile organic compounds (VOC’s).
Although the popular smell of citrus peel oil has had to be sacrificed in the interest of eliminating VOC’s, this is good news for allergy sufferers and a price worth paying for a gloss system that matches or exceeds the qualities of current acrylic paints without the ecological drawbacks.
